M. Washington, DC. -- Dennis J. FitzSimons, President and Chief Operations Officer of Tribune Company and Chairman of the Media Security and Reliability Council (MSRC), will convene a meeting of MSRC on Wednesday, November 6, 2002. FCC Chairman Michael K. Powell will participate in the meeting which marks the second convening of the full Council. MSRC is a Federal Advisory Committee that reports to Chairman Powell. Chairman Powell formed MSRC following the events of September 11, 2001, in order to study, develop and report on best practices designed to assure the optimal reliability, robustness and security of the broadcast and multichannel video programming distribution industries. The Communications Infrastructure Security, Access and Restoration Working Group and the Public Communications and Safety Working Group will provide updates to the Council on ongoing areas of study.
