 STATEMENT  OF  COMMISSIONER  JONATHAN  S.  ADELSTEIN 
 I  was  honored  today  to  have  Chairman  Michael  Powell  administer  the  oath  of  office  to  start  my  term  as  a  member  of  the  Federal  Communications  Commission.  The  issues  before  this 
 agency  touch  every  American  in  the  most  basic  ways  -  their  phone  services,  television,  radio,  cable  and  Internet  access. 


 During  my  time  on  this  Commission,  I  will  work  to  ensure  that  Americans  have  the  best  possible  communications  services  by  enhancing  competition,  promoting  universal  access  to  all 
 communications  services,  and  efficiently  managing  the  public  spectrum.
