Previously, Diamond served as House Majority Leader Dick Armey’s spokesman on technology and privacy issues. He also served as Press Secretary for the House Select Committee on Homeland Security. Diamond began his congressional career in Rep. Armey’s Texas office in 1994. He then moved to Washington in 1996 to become Press Secretary for Rep. Robert K. Dornan of California and returned to Rep. Armey’s office as Press Secretary in 1997. FCC Chairman Michael Powell said, “We are very pleased that Richard has joined our office of Media Relations. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the agency and we are fortunate to have him here." Diamond holds a B.
