Thomas, Chief of the Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) has named Rashmi Doshi Chief of OET’s Laboratory Division. Laboratory Division is responsible for performing technical studies and designing test procedures for equipment in support of regulatory policies. The Division also manages the equipment authorization program including monitoring Telecom Certification Bodies to ensure compliance of products with FCC rules. “I am very pleased to have Rashmi join me in OET,” remarked Mr. Thomas, “his unique combination of talents will be a strong asset to the Commission. He combines a technical engineering background in communications systems and broadband network architectures development with management expertise. His combination of skills will enable the Commission to expand investigation of advanced technologies for broadband communications and efficient use of spectrum.” Dr. Doshi has over twenty- eight years of experience in managing the research and development of communications systems and technology. Prior to joining the FCC, Dr. Doshi was the CTO at Everest Broadband Networks where he was responsible for technology planning and development of broadband network architectures. Dr. Doshi has also held management positions at Verizon, IPC Communications Ltd., Nortel Networks and British Telecom. Dr. Doshi holds a Ph. D. in Digital Signal Processing from the University of Southampton, England. - FCC - 1
