In his new position, Furth will advise the Bureau Chief on major proceedings and policy initiatives within the Bureau, and will provide special assistance with activities related to spectrum policy. David's strong background in wireless policy and spectrum issues make him well- suited for this position," said Muleta, "His valuable insight will greatly benefit the Bureau. Furth joined the FCC in August 1992. Most recently he served as Senior Legal Advisor in the Office of the Bureau Chief, and as a member of the Spectrum Policy Task Force. Previously, he has served as a staff attorney in the Private Radio and Wireless Telecommunications Bureaus, Legal Advisor to Commissioner Rachelle Chong, Chief of the Commercial Wireless Division, and Co-Chair of the Universal Licensing System Task Force. Prior to joining the Commission, he was in private practice with Piper & Marbury in Washington, DC and with Shartsis, Friese & Ginsburg in San Francisco, California. Furth received his B.
