BUREAU SUBJECT 1 WIRELESS TELE- COMMUNICATIONS TITLE: The 4.9 GHz Band Transferred from Federal Government Use (WT Docket No. 00- 32). SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a Memorandum Opinion and Order and Third Report and Order concerning eligibility, licensing and service rules for the 4.9 GHz Band to promote effective public safety communications and innovation in wireless broadband services in support of public safety and homeland security. 2 OFFICE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY TITLE: Inquiry Regarding Carrier Current Systems, including Broadband over Power Line Systems. SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a Notice of Inquiry concerning Broadband over Power Line systems that would operate on an unlicensed basis under Part 15 of the Commission’s rules. 1 2 3 WIRELINE COMPETITION TITLE: Schools and Libraries Universal Service Support Mechanism (CC Docket No. 02- 6). SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a Second Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning the universal service support mechanism for schools and libraries. 4 OFFICE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY TITLE: Amendment of Parts 2 and 25 of the Commission’s Rules to Permit Operation of NGSO FSS Systems Co- Frequency with GSO and Terrestrial Systems in the Ku- Band Frequency Range; Amendment of the Commission’s Rules to Authorize Subsidiary Terrestrial Use of the 12.2- 12.7 GHz Band by Direct Broadcast Satellite Licensees and Their Affiliates; and Applications of Broadwave USA, PDC Broadband Corporation, and Satellite Receivers, Ltd. to Provide a Fixed Service in the 12.2- 12.7 GHz Band (ET Docket No. 98- 206). SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a Fourth Memorandum Opinion and Order addressing the petitions for reconsideration filed in response to the Memorandum Opinion and Order and Second Report and Order in this proceeding. 5 INTERNATIONAL TITLE: Amendment of the Commission’s Space Station Licensing Rules and Policies (IB Docket No. 02- 34) and Mitigation of Orbital Debris (IB Docket No. 02- 54). SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a First Report and Order to determine whether and, if so, how to reform the procedures for considering satellite license applications.
