MORRIS NAMED DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE PRICING POLICY DIVISION OF THE WIRELINE COMPETITION BUREAU Washington, D. C. – William Maher, Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), today made the following personnel announcement. Steve Morris has been named Deputy Chief of the Pricing Policy Division, Wireline Competition Bureau. In this position, Mr. Morris will be responsible for proceedings related to the Commission’s rules on intercarrier compensation and pricing of unbundled network elements, as well as other matters within the Pricing Policy Division. Since October 2001, Mr. Morris has served as a Staff Attorney in the Pricing Policy Division of the Wireline Competition Bureau. He has worked on the Intercarrier Compensation proceeding, the pricing portion of the Virginia Arbitration proceeding, and the Triennial Review proceeding. Mr. Morris also was a team leader for the first Qwest 271 proceeding. Before joining the Commission in 2001, Mr. Morris was Director- Regulatory Affairs for Global Metro Networks Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Morris was an attorney at Hogan & Hartson, LLP and Dow, Lohnes & Albertson. Mr. Morris received his B. S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and his J. D. from George Mason University School of Law. 1
