BUREAU SUBJECT 1 OFFICE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY TITLE: Revision of Parts 2 and 15 of the Commission’s Rules to Permit Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U- NII) devices in the 5 GHz Band (RM- 10371). SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning the operation of unlicensed National Information Infrastructure devices under Part 15 of the Commission’s Rules. 1 2 2 WIRELINE COMPETITION TITLE: Section 272( f)( 1) Sunset of the BOC Separate Affiliate and Related Requirements (WC Docket No. 02- 112); 2000 Biennial Regulatory Review Separate Affiliate Requirements of Section 64.1903 of the Commission’s Rules (CC Docket No. 00- 175). SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning the appropriate classification of Bell Operating Companies and incumbent independent local exchange carriers provision of in- region, interstate and international interexchange telecommunications service and how changes to the competitive landscape within the interexchange market should affect this classification and on what approach is appropriate for BOCs and independent LECs, if and when these carriers may provide in-region, interexchange services outside of a separate affiliate. 3 CONSUMER & GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS TITLE: Telecommunications Relay Services and Speech- to- Speech Services for Individuals with Hearing and Speech Disabilities (CC Docket No. 98- 67); Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a Second Report and Order further improving telecommunications relay services (TRS) for persons with hearing and speech disabilities, and an Order on Reconsideration that resolves certain pending issues on reconsideration. The Commission will also consider a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking comment on ways to further improve and enhance TRS. 4 WIRELESS TELE-COMMUNICATIONS TITLE: Promoting Efficient Use of Spectrum Through Elimination of Barriers to the Development of Secondary Markets (WT Docket No. 00- 230).
