MARTIN ANNOUNCES STAFFING CHANGE Washington, DC -- FCC Commissioner Kevin J. Martin today announced that his Special Assistant for Legislative and Public Affairs, Emily Willeford, will join the White House staff. He said, “It is with great regret that I announce Emily’s departure from my staff. Emily has been a key member of my team. Emily’s professionalism and dedication to excellence is the hallmark of her tenure at the Commission. Since joining my staff nearly two years ago, Emily has been my point person for intergovernmental and industry relations as well as my liaison on press matters. I thank her profoundly for her wise counsel and hard work. Emily will be sorely missed, however, I am excited about her new career opportunity and confident that she will succeed in meeting the challenges of her new position. Ms. Willeford has served as Special Assistant to Commissioner Martin since November of 2001. Prior to joining Commissioner Martin’s staff, Ms. Willeford served in the White House as an assistant to the Deputy Director of the National Economic Council. Prior to working in the White House, Ms. Willeford was a legal assistant for the Bush presidential campaign in Austin, Texas. # # # 1
