*Pages 1--1 from Microsoft Word - 31445* PUBLIC NOTICE Federal Communications Commission 445 12 th St., S. W. Washington, D. C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 Released: September 17, 2003 FY 2003 ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF REGULATORY FEES ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE AND CLARIFICATION In an effort to streamline the collection of regulatory fees, the FCC did not mail public notices this year to thousands of regulatees. As in previous years, all information regarding payment of FY 2003 regulatory fees will be available on the FCC website: www. fcc. gov/ fees/ regfees. As a pilot project to simplify the notification process, the FCC sent postcards to all licensees and permittees of media services (excluding broadcast auxiliaries) to inform them that FY 2003 regulatory fees were due no later than September 24, 2003. These postcards were not intended to replace any of the Commission’s existing procedures for paying regulatory fees, including the requirement to submit Form 159. Therefore, it is important to note that you should submit Form 159 when making your regulatory fee payment. The Commission mailed postcards that included fee amounts and fee codes for most media services, but not for broadcast auxiliary licenses. If you have a broadcast auxiliary license, regulatory fee payments are due for these licenses even though postcards were not mailed reflecting this media service. The fee amount for a broadcast auxiliary is $10 per license with a fee code of 0369. Finally, the Commission has identified more than 140 call signs for AM and FM radio stations that were miscoded on the postcards that were mailed. The Commission’s regulatory fees website that listed the radio station call signs was corrected on the morning of August 25, 2003. The AM/ FM Radio Station Search engine was corrected by the afternoon of August 25, 2003. The Commission will identify these 140 or more call signs on its regulatory fees website. If you have not already submitted your payment, please review the listing of these call signs to determine if your call sign is among them. If you have already submitted your payment, there will be an opportunity to send in the additional payment, or request a refund for the difference. For more information about this proceeding, please call Roland Helvajian at (202) 418- 0444. We apologize for this inconvenience. - FCC - 1
