Perry, a lawyer as well as an economist, is on leave from Rutgers University where he has been on the Economics faculty since 1989 and served as Chair of the Department for five years. Perry is an internationally recognized scholar and antitrust expert. He has published extensively on several economic issues relevant to the communications industry. He has also advised the Department of Justice on competitive issues in several merger investigations. Perry has served as a Visiting Professor at the University of California at Berkeley (Economics Department), Rutgers Law School at Newark, Washington University (Olin School of Business), and University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School of Management). Perry is also a Research Affiliate at the Institute for Economic Analysis in Barcelona Spain, one of the premier economic research centers in Europe. Prior to joining Rutgers University, he was a member of the technical staff at Bell Telephone Laboratories, Inc. (1976- 1983), and Bell Communications Research (1984- 1989). Perry received his A. B. in mathematics, with honors at the University of Missouri at Columbia, and his A. M. and Ph. D in economics at Stanford University. In addition, he received his J.
