The hearing is open to the public, and seating will be available on a first- come, first- served basis. The hearing date, time, and location are: Date & Time: Thursday, March 18, 2004 2: 00 p. m. – 5: 00 p. m. Location: Federal Communications Commission Commission Meeting Room 445 12 th Street, S. W. Washington, D. C. The initial meeting will focus on 911/ E911 issues, and on the particular challenges and opportunities created for emergency services in expanding 911/ E911 access to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) users and increasing the use of IP technologies in emergency services networks. Specifically, the forum will focus on technical issues and solutions associated with extending access to E911 service to VoIP users. The forum will also center on the challenges and benefits of using IP technologies in emergency services networks to provide capabilities beyond existing E911 service. Participants will include members of the public safety community, industry representatives, and FCC staff. Facilities The FCC is located at 445 12th Street S. W., Washington, D. C. 20554.
