C. – Kenneth Ferree, chief of the Media Bureau at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), announced the promotions of James Bradshaw and Edward De La Hunt to the positions of Deputy Chiefs (Engineering), Audio Division of the Media Bureau, effective March 21, 2004. The Audio Division regulates AM and FM broadcast radio services, as well as FM translator/ booster stations. The Audio Division receives and evaluates numerous applications each year for the nation's approximately 15,000 AM, FM commercial, FM noncommercial educational, and FM translator/ booster stations. These applications include station modification applications, applications for new stations, assignment or transfer applications, license applications, and renewal applications. Ferree said, “Ed and Jim have a tremendous record of service at the FCC. Their expertise and hard work allows the Audio Division to process thousands of filings each year. I look forward to working with them in their new roles.” Mr. Bradshaw's primary responsibility is oversight of the FM, FM Translator and LPFM Technical processing staff. In addition, Mr. Bradshaw is involved in matters related to the Media Bureau's Consolidated Database System (CDBS) and the Non- Commercial Educational allotment reservation process. Mr. Bradshaw previously served as Associate Chief of the Audio Division and prior to that was a supervisory engineer in that division. Before joining the Audio Division as an electronics engineer in 1991, Mr. Bradshaw received a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Delaware. Mr. De La Hunt’s primary responsibility is oversight of the AM and FM Technical processing staff. Most recently, Mr. De La Hunt has been involved in technical matters related to the Digital Audio Broadcasting and AM Auctions. In February 1990, he joined the Commission as a staff engineer in the Audio Services Division of the Mass Media Bureau. In March 2002, he became Associate Chief of the Audio Division.
