SCHLICK NAMED DEPUTY GENERAL COUNSEL OF THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Washington, DC – John Rogovin, General Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission, has announced that Austin C. Schlick has been named Deputy General Counsel in the Commission’s Office of General Counsel. In his new position, Schlick will oversee matters before the Office of General Counsel’s Litigation Division. “We are extremely fortunate to have Austin join us,” said Rogovin. “He has a very strong background in both telecommunications and appellate litigation." Most recently, Schlick served as an assistant in the Solicitor General’s office of the U. S. Department of Justice. In that position he represented the government in various cases before the Supreme Court. Prior to that position, he was a partner with the law firm of Kellogg, Huber, Hansen, Todd and Evans. Schlick was also an associate at the law firm of Klein, Farr, Smith and Taranto. Prior to that, he served as a law clerk for U. S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and a law clerk for Chief Judge Abner Mikva of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Schlick began his career as a legislative assistant to U. S. Senator John C. Danforth. He holds a J. D. from Yale Law School, where he served as senior editor of the Yale Law Journal, and an A. B. magna cum laude from Princeton University. Schlick is a member of the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania Bars. - FCC - 1
