C. – Today, John B. Muleta, Chief of the Federal Communications Commission’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, announced that Thomas Derenge has been appointed Deputy Division Chief for Engineering and Renée Roland Crittendon appointed Associate Division Chief of the Bureau’s Mobility Division. Mr. Derenge served for the past four years as Chief of the Spectrum Policy Branch of the FCC’s Office of Engineering and Technology. Mr. Derenge, whose technical expertise includes spectrum use and electromagnetic compatibility among radio services, has worked in spectrum management at the FCC since 1991. He received his Electrical Engineering degree from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Ms. Crittendon most recently served as Senior Attorney Advisor in the Competition Policy Division of the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau where she managed the review of several section 271 applications and various local competition rulemaking proceedings. Before joining the Commission in 2001, Ms. Crittendon served as Deputy Chief Counsel-Telecommunications for Prism Communication Services, Inc. and as an Associate at the law firms of Leventhal Senter & Lerman PLLC and Piper & Marbury (now Piper Rudnick LLC).
