MCMAHON NAMED ASSOCIATE CHIEF OF CGB’S CONSUMER POLICY DIVISION Washington, DC – Erica H. McMahon has been named associate chief of the Consumer Policy Division of the Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau. Ms. McMahon joined the Commission in December of 2001 as an attorney in the Policy Division. She has had primary responsibility for the Commission’s Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) proceedings. As associate chief of the Consumer Policy Division, she will continue to oversee rulemakings and orders regarding the FCC’s telemarketing and fax advertising rules. Prior to joining the FCC, Ms. McMahon was an attorney with the Federal Election Commission’s Enforcement Bureau and Information Division. K. Dane Snowden, Chief of CGB, said, “Erica’s keen and insightful legal analysis served a critical role in the FCC’s adoption of the new telemarketing rules last year. She has since contributed tremendously in the implementation of those rules and development of all the issues in our consumer policy division. I am delighted that the Commission will continue to benefit from Erica’s valuable work in her new, leadership position.” Ms. McMahon received a B. A. in political science at The College of William and Mary and an M. L. A. at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her J. D., cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law.
