SES Americom, Inc. In addition, a supplemental interference analysis for certain emission types (ASIA analysis) is also provided. SES Americom, Inc. SAT C- 1 SAT- STA- 20040614- 00115 E Special Temporary Authority 06/ 14/ 2004 17: 39: 36: 52300 Date Filed: SES AMERICOM, Inc. has filed a request for extension of special temporary authority to operate its Satcom C- 1 satellite for a period of six months through December 17, 2004. Satcom C- 1 is a geostationary C- band satellite operating pursuant to STA at 37.5° W. L. Intelsat North America LLC SAT- STA- 20040615- 00116 E Special Temporary Authority 06/ 15/ 2004 15: 20: 17: 64600 Date Filed: Page 1 of 2 1 For more information concerning this Notice, contact the Satellite Division at 202- 418- 0719; TTY 202- 418- 2555. Intelsat North America, LLC (Intelsat) has filed an application requesting an extension of the Special Temporary Authority (" STA") that it was granted in the February 11, 2004 Loral/ Intelsat Order and Authorization (DA 04- 357, 19 FCC Rcd 2404 (2004)). Under the STA, Intelsat is permitted to provide "additional services," as defined by the ORBIT Act, to former customers of Loral Satellite, Inc. (Debtor- in- Possession) and Loral SpaceCom Corporation (Debtor- in- Possession) that were acquired by Intelsat as part of an assignment transaction (" additional services STA"). Specifically, because of the ORBIT Act's limitation on the provision of additional services, the additional services STA allowed Intelsat to provide additional services, such as direct- to- home (DTH) services, to Loral's existing DTH customers for a period of 180 days solely for the purpose of providing Loral's existing DTH customers time to transition to another service provider. The additional services STA is set to expire on September 13, 2004. In its extension request, Intelsat seeks authority to extend the additional services STA for an additional 180 days, to March 12, 2005. According to Intelsat, such an extension will avoid unnecessary and costly disruption of service and will ensure continued, non- interrupted service to end- user consumers. In addition, Intelsat states that due to the marketplace uncertainty during the pendency of the Commission's review of the Loral/ Intelsat Order and Authorization, an extension of the STA is in the public interest. Intelsat also requests expedited treatment of the STA extension request.
