Dillon has been named Assistant Bureau Chief of the Enforcement Bureau. Mr. Dillon most recently served as the Bureau’s Engineering Advisor, assisting the Bureau Chief on a wide range of public safety, technical and management projects. Mr. Dillon also represents the Bureau on the Commission’s “Engineering- in- Training” Board, for which he received the Chairman’s Special Achievement Award, and was the principal leader of the Knowledge Sharing Program, which permits field engineers and headquarters engineers to exchange information and expertise. He is also a member of the Spectrum Policy Task Force. In his new position, Mr. Dillon will continue to work on these and similar matters. An FCC employee since 1977, Mr. Dillon began his career at the Powder Springs, Georgia Special Enforcement Facility. In 1984, after serving in the Houston, Texas field office, he transferred to Washington, D. C., where he worked in the Investigations and Inspections Branch of the former Field Operations Bureau and was the lead investigator in the Commission’s successful resolution of two deliberate satellite jamming episodes. Mr. Dillon also served as the Chief of the Aviation and Marine Branch of the former Private Radio Bureau from 1990 to 1995. Prior to joining the Commission, Mr. Dillon worked at Kennedy Space Center, Florida as a control system engineer on the Apollo and Apollo- Soyuz launch vehicles. Mr. Dillon served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967.
