DELACOURT NAMED DEPUTY BUREAU CHIEF OF THE WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU Washington, DC – John Muleta, Chief of the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, has announced that Scott D. Delacourt will become a Deputy Bureau Chief. In his new position, Delacourt will oversee matters before the Bureau’s Broadband Division and before the Bureau’s Spectrum & Competition Policy Division. “As Chief of Staff, Scott has provided valuable leadership and counsel during an eventful year for the Bureau -- including a reorganization and an active policy agenda,” said Muleta. “I am pleased to have someone of his talents to address the challenges of this new portfolio.” Most recently, Delacourt served as Chief of Staff and Associate Bureau Chief of the Wireless Bureau. In that role, he was responsible for providing staffing and support for the Bureau Chief, long range agenda planning, and Bureau management. Prior to assuming that position, Delacourt served as Senior Counsel in the Office of General Counsel, where he advised the Chairman’s Office on wireless and international matters. His tenure in the General Counsel’s Office followed prior service in the Wireless Bureau, as Legal Advisor to former Bureau Chief Tom Sugrue. Prior to joining the Commission, Delacourt was an attorney with the law firm of Wiley, Rein & Fielding, where he specialized in communications law issues, including wireless, Internet, common carrier, and appellate matters. In addition, he is a Trustee of the FCBA Foundation, where he serves as the Secretary. Delacourt received his B. A., summa cum laude, from Georgetown University. He received his J.
