TERRY NAMED CHIEF OF STAFF AND ASSOCIATE CHIEF OF THE WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU Washington, DC – John Muleta, Chief of the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, has named D’wana R. Terry as his Chief of Staff and Associate Bureau Chief. In her new position, Ms. Terry will oversee strategic and long- range planning, assist in Bureau management, provide staffing and support for the Bureau Chief, and advise the Bureau Chief on key policy initiatives. “D’wana provides the creative thinking and management skills demanded of the position of Chief of Staff,” said Muleta. “Her experience and expertise will be invaluable in addressing our Bureau’s challenging portfolio of spectrum management issues. I have confidence that she will be a successful advocate in advancing the policy and organizational agenda of the Bureau.” Most recently, Ms. Terry served, for over six years, as Chief of the Bureau’s Public Safety and Critical Infrastructure Division and its predecessor, the Public Safety and Private Wireless Division. In that role, Ms. Terry managed the Division responsible for developing and implementing a regulatory framework designed to ensure that public health and safety personnel and other entities involved in the Nation's critical infrastructure industries have access to effective and efficient communications technologies and services, particularly in times of emergencies and crises. Earlier in her career, Ms. Terry served as Chief Counsel and as a Legal Advisor to previous WTB Chiefs, as well as Acting Deputy Branch Chief and senior attorney in the Bureau’s former Commercial Wireless Division. Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Terry was an attorney with the law firm of Dow, Lohnes & Albertson, where she specialized in mass media regulatory issues. She received a B. A. degree from Lafayette College and a J. D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a Dillard Fellow. - FCC - 1
