C.: - The Federal Communications Commission today entered into a $300,000 Consent Decree with Emmis Communications Corporation (“ Emmis”) to resolve investigations into whether Emmis stations had broadcast obscene, indecent, or profane material in violation of the Communications Act and Commission rules. As part of the agreement, Emmis admits that some of the material it broadcast was indecent, in violation of 47 C. F. R. § 73.3999. In addition to the $300,000 payment to the U. S. Treasury, Emmis has also committed to implementing a company- wide Compliance Plan aimed at preventing future violations. The Consent Decree resolves all pending Forfeiture Orders, Enforcement Bureau investigations, and third- party complaints against Emmis for possible violations of 18 U. S. C. § 1464 and 47 C. F. R. § 73.3999. The pending Forfeiture Orders covered by the Consent Decree are a $14,000 Forfeiture Order released January 8, 2002, a $21,000 Forfeiture Order released November 1, 2002 and a $7,000 Forfeiture Order released February 18, 2004.
