C. – Today, Jeffrey Carlisle, Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), made the following personnel announcement. Mark Wigfield has been named Wireline Liaison Specialist for the Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB). In this position, Mr. Wigfield will manage public affairs for WCB, and will be the primary contact for press inquiries regarding WCB’s activities on conventional wireline telephony, emerging Internet telephony and other broadband services, universal service subsidies and other matters affecting the telecommunications industry and its users. Prior to coming to the FCC, Mr. Wigfield spent five years as a reporter in the Washington Bureau of Dow Jones Newswires. He covered the FCC, Congress and executive branch agencies on a beat that included communications policy, the high- tech industry and antitrust. He has also been a regional reporter in Washington covering Capitol Hill and federal agencies for local papers across the country since 1986. Mr. Wigfield has a B.
