C. – Robert Tanner has been appointed Assistant Bureau Chief of the Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau by Bureau Chief Jeffrey Carlisle. As Assistant Chief, Mr. Tanner will advise the Bureau Chief on policy matters and manage special projects for the Bureau. Since January 2004, Mr. Tanner has served as Legal Counsel to the Bureau Chief. Prior to that role, Mr. Tanner was an Attorney Advisor in the Competition Policy Division of the Wireline Competition Bureau where he was a team leader for the Triennial Review Order and the Verizon Pennsylvania Section 271 Order. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Tanner was in private practice with the law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP in their Communications, Media and Information Technology Group. From 1995 to 1998 Mr. Tanner worked for the Federal Communications Commission as an Attorney Advisor in the Policy and Program Planning Division of the Common Carrier Bureau. Mr. Tanner received his J. D. from Hastings College of the Law, University of California and his B. A. from California Polytechnic State University in 1992. 1
