 Diane  L.  Griffin  Named  Associate  Chief  of  the  FCC’s  Wireline  Competition  Bureau 
 Ms.  Griffin  To  Serve  As  Bureau’s  Chief  of  Staff 
 Washington,  DC  –  Jeffrey  Carlisle,  Chief  of  the  Federal  Communications  Commission’s  Wireline  Competition  Bureau  (Bureau),  today  made  the  following  personnel  announcement: 


 Diane  L.  Griffin  has  been  promoted  to  Associate  Chief,  and  will  serve  as  the  Bureau’s  Chief  of  Staff.  In  this  position,  Ms.  Griffin  will  establish  goals  and  objectives  for  the  Bureau’s 
 programs  and  activities,  and  direct  action  to  improve  the  efficiency  and  effectiveness  of  Bureau  operations. 


 Ms.  Griffin  had  served  as  Assistant  Chief  of  the  Bureau  since  October  2001.  Prior  to  that,  she  was  acting  Chief  of  the  Network  Services  Division  (NSD)  in  the  former  Common 
 Carrier  Bureau  (CCB),  Deputy  and  Assistant  Chief  of  NSD,  and  Designated  Federal  Officer  to  the  North  American  Numbering  Counsel.  She  also  served  as  Deputy  Chief  and  Staff  Attorney  in 
 the  Formal  Complaints  and  Investigations  Branch  of  CCB’s  Enforcement  Division.  Before  joining  the  Commission,  she  was  a  litigation  associate  at  the  Washington,  DC,  office  of 
 Kilpatrick,  Stockton,  LL.  P.  (formerly  Kilpatrick  &  Cody). 
 Ms.  Griffin  received  her  B.  S.  in  Business  Management  from  the  University  of  Maryland,  College  Park,  Maryland,  her  J.  D.,  cum  laude,  from  Howard  University  School  of  Law,  and  her 
 LL.  M.  from  the  Georgetown  University  Law  Center.
