Fiske@ fcc. gov P. JUNE TAYLOR NAMED ACTING DIRECTOR OF THE FCC OFFICE OF WORKPLACE DIVERSITY Washington, DC – FCC Chairman Michael Powell today named P. June Taylor Acting Director of the Office of Workplace Diversity (OWD). Taylor most recently served as Associate Bureau Chief and Chief of Staff in the FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB). “I’m delighted June has agreed to lead our Office of Workplace Diversity,” said Powell. “Promoting a diverse FCC work environment has always been a top priority for me and June’s wealth of regulatory and managerial experience make her well suited for this position.” Prior to joining the Commission, Taylor was an attorney with the Office of General Counsel for the Western Area Power Administration, U. S. Department of Energy. While at Western, she successfully defended the agency in litigation before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Merit Systems Protection Board. She clerked for the Honorable Warren O. Martin and the Honorable Lawrence A. Manzanares of the 2 nd Judicial District, Colorado District Court. Taylor also served as a Judicial Fellow to the Colorado Supreme Court. Taylor received her J. D. from the University of Denver College of Law where she was President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and Articles Editor of the Transportation Law Journal. She holds a B. A. cum laude from the University of New Mexico where she was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate. - FCC - 1
