McCarrick@ fcc. gov FCC LAUNCHES NEW ATTORNEY HONORS PROGRAM Competitive Two- Year Program Aimed at New and Recent Law School Graduates Washington, D. C. - The Federal Communications Commission today announced a new Attorney Honors Program to recruit law school graduates with demonstrated motivation and superior academic credentials to the FCC and the field of communications. “During this time of unprecedented technological change, attracting the best young lawyers to the agency is an investment in the future,” said Chairman Michael Powell. “This Honors Program provides a unique opportunity for young lawyers to help shape communications policy in the digital age and to find out first- hand how rewarding a public service career can be.” The revival of the Attorney Honors Program was prompted by the FCC Best! Innovation and Efficiency Subcommittee. FCC Best! is an employee- sponsored program devoted to professional development, workplace enhancement, and community and public service. The FCC is now accepting applications from graduating law school students and recent law school graduates for several openings in the program’s fall 2005 inaugural class. All Attorney Honors Program participants will be located at the FCC’s headquarters in Washington, DC. Applications must be received by March 31, 2005. Interested candidates who are graduating in the spring or are recent law school graduates and are not members of a bar should submit a cover letter, resume, writing sample and law school transcript to Kim Mattos, Office of General Counsel, Federal Communications Commission, 445 12 th Street S.
