McCarrick@ fcc. gov MEDIA SECURITY AND RELIABILITY COUNCIL TO MEET WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2005 Washington, D. C. – The FCC’s Media Security and Reliability Council (MSRC) will meet on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 from 3: 00 p. m. to 4: 30 p. m., at the Federal Communications Commission, in the Commission Meeting Room at 445 12 th Street, S. W., Washington, D. C. During the meeting the Council will review progress reports from its two working groups: The Toolkit Development Working Group and the Local Coordination Working Group. These reports will include a description of the council’s most recent outreach efforts throughout the country. Reports will also include reactions to the emergency response efforts in response to the recent hurricanes. MSRC was formed following the events of September 11, 2001, in order to study, develop and report on best practices designed to assure the optimal reliability, robustness and security of the broadcast and multichannel video programming distribution industries. The Council was re- chartered in June 2004 and is currently chaired by David J. Barrett, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hearst- Argyle Television, Inc. MSRC is comprised of leaders of mass media companies, cable television and satellite service providers, trade associations, public safety representatives, manufacturers and other related entities. Meeting Details: Members of the general public may attend the meeting. The public may submit written comments before the meeting to Barbara Kreisman, the Commission’s Designated Federal Officer for MSRC.
