 STATEMENT  OF  COMMISSIONER  MICHAEL  J.  COPPS  ON  WHITE  HOUSE  ANNOUNCEMENT  OF  INTENTION  TO  NOMINATE  ROBERT  M. 
 McDOWELL  TO  BE  FCC  COMMISSIONER 
 I  extend  warm  congratulations  to  Robert  M.  McDowell  upon  announcement  of  the  President’s  intention  to  nominate  him  to  be  our  colleague  at  the  FCC.  Mr.  McDowell  has 
 a  wide-  ranging  knowledge  of  the  communications  issues  which  the  Commission  must  deal  with  in  the  months  just  ahead.  If  confirmed,  he  will  bring  the  Commission  back  to 
 full  complement  for  the  first  time  in  almost  a  year.  I  look  forward  to  the  opportunity  of  working  with  him.
