Grant formerly served as Legislative Assistant to Senator Lamar Alexander (R- TN). His responsibilities included serving as staff to the Senate Budget Committee and issues including telecommunications, judiciary, international trade, and tax policy. Prior to that, he served as Correspondence Director in Senator Alexander’s office. Before joining Senator Alexander’s office, Mr. Grant served as Correspondence Director and Legislative Aide to U. S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald (R- IL). Regarding the announcement, Commissioner Tate said, “I am pleased to welcome John to my personal team. John’s experience on Capitol Hill and his relationships with congressional staff and policy experts— both in and out of government— will be extremely valuable as we help shape the communications policy in this dynamic digital age.” Grant received his B.
