C. – Today, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a Public Notice that revises the schedule and filing requirements for the FCC’s upcoming first auction of spectrum licenses for Advanced Wireless Services (AWS- 1). This auction, Auction No. 66, will include 1,122 AWS- 1 licenses in the 1710- 1755 MHz and 2110- 2155 MHz bands. In order to provide auction applicants with additional time for preparation and planning for the auction, the FCC has moved the start date for this auction from June 29, 2006 to August 9, 2006. In addition, the deadline for filing short- form applications (FCC Form 175) has been moved to June 19, 2006. August 9, 2006 Any party may submit a short- form application to participate in Auction No. 66 during the June 5- 19, 2006 filing window, regardless of whether it submitted an application during the previous filing window that closed May 10, 2006. In addition, the FCC’s anti- collusion rules, which had been in effect since the previous May 10, 2006 short- form deadline, are now lifted and will not take effect again until the June 19, 2006 deadline.
