MCDOWELL ANNOUNCES STAFF Today, FCC Commissioner Robert M. McDowell announced the hiring of Dana Shaffer, Angela Giancarlo, and Cristina Chou Pauzé as Acting Legal Advisors. Dana Brown Shaffer, Acting Wireline Advisor, joined the FCC as Deputy Bureau Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau, and served as an interim legal advisor to Commissioner Deborah Taylor Tate. Ms. Shaffer has more than ten years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, during which time she served in a number of leadership roles, including President of the Southeastern Competitive Carriers Association and President of the Tennessee Telecommunications Association. Ms. Shaffer received her JD from Vanderbilt University School of Law, and served as law clerk to the Honorable Eugene Siler of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Angela Giancarlo, Acting Wireless Advisor, recently served as Associate Chief for Spectrum Policy in the Public Safety and Critical Infrastructure Division of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Prior to joining the FCC, Ms. Giancarlo was Senior Associate in the Washington, DC office of Hogan & Hartson LLP, where her primary focus was advising clients on commercial and private wireless regulation, auction- related transactional matters and strategic planning on spectrum allocations. Ms. Giancarlo began her career in the congressional office of former U. S. Representative Jack Kemp (R- NY), where she served in a number of capacities over the course of four years. Ms. Giancarlo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Trinity College in Washington, DC and a law degree from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University of America. Cristina Chou Pauzé, Acting Media Advisor, joined the FCC as an Associate Bureau Chief in the Media Bureau. Her prior experience includes positions at Morrison & Foerster’s Washington DC office, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration at the U. S. Department of Commerce, and Teleglobe USA Inc. Ms. Pauzé received her JD from Vanderbilt University School of Law and her AB from Duke University. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable John G.
