He possesses a unique understanding of the needs of citizens who live in rural areas of our nation,” Commissioner Tate said. Chris Moore most recently served as Deputy Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs. Previously Mr. Moore worked as a Senior Attorney-Advisor in the Wireline Competition Bureau, including serving a detail in the office of former U.S. Senator Conrad Burns. Before joining the FCC, Mr. Moore served as Special Assistant to the Administrator of the USDA Rural Utilities Service. In that role, he helped develop strategies and policies with respect to telecommunications, broadband and Internet issues. Prior to that, Mr. Moore served as Counsel to the U.S. Senate Rules and Administration Committee. He was also a Regulatory Attorney for Sprint Corporation working on telecommunications and technology issues. Mr. Moore started his legal career as a Counsel for the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Mr. Moore received his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Transylvania University. - FCC -
