ADELSTEIN ANNOUNCES STAFF CHANGE Washington, DC – FCC Commissioner Jonathan S. Adelstein announced today that Scott Bergmann will be assuming the position and responsibilities of Senior Legal Advisor. Barry Ohlson, the Commissioner’s current Senior Legal Advisor, has decided to begin considering other opportunities outside the Commission. “I'm very pleased that Scott has agreed to serve as Senior Legal Advisor,” said Commissioner Adelstein. “He has worked with me for almost my full tenure at the Commission, and his sound advice and counsel have been integral to my decision-making.” Bergmann first started working with Commissioner Adelstein in May 2003. After serving as Deputy Chief of the Competition Policy Division, Bergmann was named Wireline Legal Advisor in January 2004. In addition to his Senior Legal Advisor duties, Bergmann will continue to advise the Commissioner on wireline, broadband, and disability rights issues. Bergmann has previously served as Legal Counsel to the Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau, advising the Bureau Chief on competition policy and broadband issues. Prior to joining the Bureau's front office, Bergmann was an Attorney-Advisor in the Industry Analysis Division. He has been with the Commission since 1996. Bergmann received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law Center and his B.A. from Duke University. - FCC -
