COMMISSION ANNOUNCES STAFF RECIPIENTS OF
FCC EXCELLENCE IN ECONOMICS AWARDS
Washington, DC - The Federal Communications Commission today announced the 
names of six FCC employees who are recipients of the sixth annual FCC “Excellence in 
Economic Analysis” awards.  
Four awards were given.  The winners are Kenneth Lynch, Mark M. Bykowsky, William 
W. Sharkey, Kiran Duwadi, Scott W. Roberts, and Andrew S. Wise.  Lynch was 
recognized individually; Bykowsky and Sharkey were honored for joint work.  Sharkey 
also shared an award for joint work with Fernando Beltran, an academic visitor to the 
Commission during a portion of the past year.  Duwadi, Roberts and Wise were also 
honored for joint work.
The awards recognize outstanding contributions to economic analysis at the 
Commission, based on the impact of the contribution on Commission policy and/or its 
significance for the general base of knowledge in economics or public policy analysis.  
The Excellence in Economic Analysis awards are a key part of the Commission’s 
Excellence in Economic Analysis initiative, which also includes expanding staff training 
opportunities and additional resources for software and other research materials.  Up to 
five awards are given annually and all Commission staff members are eligible for 
nomination.
