MARTIN ANNOUNCES STAFF CHANGE: CATHERINE BOHIGIAN TO LEAVE FCC Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin J. Martin announced today that Catherine Bohigian, Chief of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis, is leaving the Commission to join Cablevision Systems Corp. Chairman Martin said of the announcement: “The Commission and I are very fortunate to have benefited from Catherine’s insight and expertise. She has been one of my closest advisors since I came to the Commission in 2001, and I have relied on her knowledge of telecom policy and the law on every major issue that has come before the Commission. She has been instrumental in achieving many important policy goals for the benefit of American consumers. Catherine has been with me since I arrived at the Commission, and I have appreciated her judgment and dedication for the last seven years. She is an irreplaceable advisor and a good friend. I will miss her greatly.” Ms. Bohigian was appointed Chief of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis in 2005. She previously served as Chairman Martin’s Senior Legal Advisor and as Legal Advisor for Media issues, joining his staff in 2001. Prior to joining the Commission, she was in private practice at the law firm of Wiley, Rein & Fielding. Ms. Bohigian graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School and summa cum laude from Duke University. Her last day at the Commission will be Sept. 5. -FCC-
