ADELSTEIN ON THE DEPARTURE OF COMMISSIONER DEBORAH TAYLOR TATE It’s been a pleasure to serve alongside Debi Tate for the past three years. We have all benefited from Debi’s collegiality and dedication. Her grace and friendship have made easier and more enjoyable the many important and often difficult issues we’ve tackled together. Debi’s experience as a former State commissioner and her tireless efforts have led to many accomplishments during her tenure. Her leadership and determination as Chair of the Federal- State Joint Boards on universal service, separations, and advanced telecommunications service were essential to the development of consensus-based recommendations in areas that have typically been contentious and thorny. Her advocacy on behalf of American children and families has been truly commendable and should serve as an example for everyone. And I am particularly grateful for her willingness to work together on behalf of the creative community, which was only matched by her love of Tennessee. My staff and I wish Debi and her family all the best, with every expectation she will continue to enjoy great success in her life and in her work. - FCC -
