ERRATUM

By the Chief, Office of Engineering and Technology:
On November 14, 2008, the Commission released a Second Report and Order and Memorandum 
Opinion and Order (Second R&O/MO&O), FCC 08-260, in the above captioned proceeding.   This 
Erratum corrects the Second R&O/MO&O as indicated below:
1. The sixth sentence of paragraph 148 is corrected by changing “48” to “47”.
2. Paragraph 174 is corrected by changing “-28 dBm” to “-33 dBm” in the third sentence 
and adding the phrase “…also consider that the TVBD signal is subject to 4 dB of reception line loss 
and…” after the word “We” at the beginning of the fifth sentence.
3. The third sentence of paragraph 175 is corrected by replacing the third instance of the 
word “and” with a comma and adding the phrase “…and 4 dB of reception line loss…” after the word 
“mismatch”.
4. The second sentence of Section 15.703(g) is corrected by adding the phrase “…based on 
a list provided by the database…” after the word “itself.”
This Erratum also corrects the rules in Appendix B of the Second R&O/MO&O as follows:
5. Section 15.703(l) is corrected by adding the phrase “…that may change.” at the end of 
the sentence.
6. Section 15.703(n) is corrected by changing the word “listens” to “monitors”.
7. Section 15.705(b) is corrected by removing the word “device” after “TVBD” and adding 
the phrase “…of this part…” after “15.101(b)”.
8. Section 15.707(a) is corrected by removing the word “available” and adding the phrase 
“…that is available at all locations within the protection range of the coordinates of each such area as set 
forth in section 15.712(d) of this part.” at the end of the first sentence.
9. Section 15.709(b)(3) is corrected by replacing the phrase “…the receive antenna used 
for…” with the phrase “…an antenna used for transmission, reception and…”
10. Section 15.709(b)(4) is added to state “For both fixed and personal/portable TVBDs with 
a separate sensing antenna, compliance testing shall be performed using the lowest gain antenna for each 
type of antenna to be certified.”

11. Section 15.709(c)(1) is corrected by adding the phrase “…in which the device is 
operating.” to the end of the sentence.
12. Section 15.709(c)(2) is corrected by replacing the word “lower” with “narrower”.
13. Section 15.709(c)(4) is corrected by changing the number “620” to “602” in the second 
row of the second column in the table.
14. The second sentence of Section 15.711(a)(1) is corrected by replacing the first instance of 
the word “and” with a comma and adding the word “operations” after “receive”.
15. Section 15.711(a)(2) is corrected by changing the reference from “Section 15.722” to 
“Section 15.712”.
16. The last sentence of Section 15.711(b)(1) is corrected by changing the word “its” to the 
phrase “…the device’s: 1)…” and adding the phrase “…; and 2) registration with the database based on 
the device’s new coordinates.” to the end of the sentence.
17. The first sentence to Section 15.711(f) is corrected by adding a comma after the first 
instance of the word “database” and adding the phrase “…to that other device…” after the word 
“transmit”.  The third sentence of this section is corrected by removing the word “client” and replacing 
the phrase “…their master device…” with the phrase “…the database through another fixed device…”
18. The second sentence of Section 15.712(a)(1) is corrected by changing the word “These” 
to “The” and replacing the phrase “…are based on…” to “…should be calculated taking into account the 
terrain roughness correction specified in…”
19. A new second sentence is added to Section 15.712(a)(2) that reads “Personal/portable 
TVBDs operating in Mode II must comply with the separation distances specified for an unlicensed 
device with an antenna height of less than 3 meters.”
20. The first sentence of Section 15.712(b) is corrected by changing the phrase “receive site” 
to “protected contour” in the fourth line and adding the phrase “…from the protected contour…” after “20 
km”.
21. Section 15.712(f)(1) is corrected by changing the phrase “…when wireless microphones 
are used.” to “…on the channels used by wireless microphones.”
22. Section 15.712(f)(2)(A) is deleted.
23. Section 15.712(f)(2)(B) is renumbered as Section 15.712(f)(2).  This section is corrected 
by adding the phrase “In the 13 metropolitan areas listed in Section 90.303(a) of this chapter and nearby 
areas where private land mobile services and commercial land mobile services are authorized by waiver, 
operation of…” at the beginning of the first sentence; by removing the words “to operate” and “available” 
from this sentence; and by replacing the text “…within 134 km of the 13 metropolitan areas listed in 
Section 90.303(a) of this chapter.  If one or both of those channels are occupied by a licensed service in 
one or more of these metropolitan areas, operation of TVBDs is prohibited on the first channel adjacent to 
the occupied channel(s).” with the text “…that is available, i.e., not occupied by a licensed service, at all 
locations within the protection range of the coordinates of each such area as set forth in section 15.712(d) 
of this part.”
24. Section 15.712(g)(2) is corrected by adding the phrase “…of that border…” after “60 
kilometers”.

25. The introductory text before Section 15.713(a) is removed.
26. Section 15.713(b)(1)(B) is corrected by removing the phrase “Digital and analog…”.
27. Section 15.713(b)(2) is corrected by inserting a new paragraph (B) that reads “Class A 
television station receive sites” and a new paragraph (C) that reads “Low power television station receive 
sites”.  The subsequent paragraphs are re-designated (D) – (F).  Paragraph (F) is corrected by replacing 
the word “TVBDs” with the phrase “…TVBD registrations”.
28. Section 15.713(c)(1) is corrected by inserting the phrase “…, low power TV and Class 
A…” after the word “translator”.
29. Section 15.713(e)(3) is corrected by inserting the phrase “…from the database…” after 
“channels”, removing the words “either” and “directly”, inserting the phrase “…, either directly…” after 
“internet” and replacing the phrase “…by receiving information from…” with the word “through”.
30. Section 15.713(e)(4) is corrected by inserting the phrase “…from the database…” after 
the word “channels”, removing the word “directly” and inserting the phrase “…, either directly or through 
a fixed TVBD.” at the end of the sentence.
31. Section 15.713(f)(1) is corrected by changing the reference “(c)(3)” to “(3)”.
32. Section 15.713(f)(3)(D) is corrected by replacing the phrase “…owns for…” with the 
phrase “…is responsible for…”.
33. Section 15.713(h)(1)(C) is corrected by replacing the word “transmitter” with the phrase 
“…transmitting antenna…”.
34. Section 15.713(h)(7) is corrected by replacing the word “and” with a comma, replacing “, 
including” with the word “and”, and changing “stations,” to “station”.
35. The second instance of paragraph (h) in Section 15.713 is re-designated as paragraph (i).  
The text of this paragraph is corrected by replacing the phrase “…supply upon request by the 
Commission…” with the phrase “…provide to the Commission, upon request…”.
36. Section 15.714(a) is corrected by adding the phrase “…to fixed and personal/portable 
TVBDs…” after the word “channels”.
37. Section 15.715(b) is corrected by replacing the word “downloading” with “acquiring” 
and removing the phrase “…TV bands…”.
38. Section 15.715(k) is corrected by changing the word “must” to “shall”, adding the phrase 
“…as appropriate…” after “often,” and adding the phrase “…to ensure consistency in the records of 
protected facilities.” at the end of the sentence.
