ON PRESIDENT OBAMA’S INTENT TO NOMINATE LAWRENCE E. STRICKLING
TO BE ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION
AT THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
The following statement can be attributed to Commissioner Robert M. McDowell:
“I congratulate Larry on the announcement that President Obama intends to nominate 
him to lead the National Telecommunications and Information Administration at the Department 
of Commerce.  I have had the pleasure of knowing Larry for many years and I know he will 
bring a wealth of knowledge to NTIA from his experience in both the public and private sectors.
