COMMISSIONER MICHAEL J. COPPS CONGRATULATES 
JONATHAN S. ADELSTEIN ON HIS SENATE CONFIRMATION
Today brings good news for my friend and former colleague Jonathan Adelstein and for 
the Rural Utilities Service because the United States Senate has just confirmed Jonathan to lead 
that important agency. I don’t think there’s a person in the country more qualified for this job. 
Jonathan has rural America in his bones; he has vast experience in rural policymaking; and he 
has the drive and determination to improve rural infrastructure for the benefit of rural citizens 
and, indeed, all Americans.  I know he will do an outstanding job, and I am pleased for him and 
for the agency.  It’s a win-win if ever I saw one.
