FCC TO HOLD MEMPHIS FIELD HEARING ON DIGITAL INCLUSION
As part of its effort to gather information for the development of a National Broadband Plan, the 
FCC will hold a field hearing on December 5th in Memphis, Tenn., focusing on whether 
broadband services are being deployed in a way that allows all Americans to benefit.  The public 
is encouraged to attend and participate.  Additional information on the agenda will be announced 
shortly.

The FCC is convening a series of hearings to promote an open dialogue between the FCC and 
the public on development of a National Broadband Plan.  The American Recovery and 
Reinvestment Act of 2009 directed the FCC to submit a National Broadband Plan to Congress by 
February 17, 2010 that addresses broadband deployment, adoption, affordability, and the use of 
broadband to advance solutions to national priorities, including health care, education, energy, 
public safety, job creation, investment, and others.
