PANELISTS ANNOUNCED FOR DEC. 15 WORKSHOP ON 
SPEECH, DEMOCRACY AND THE OPEN INTERNET
WASHINGTON -- The Federal Communications Commission will hold a staff workshop on 
speech and democratic engagement as part of the Commissions’ open Internet proceeding. The 
workshop will examine the relationship between the Internet's openness and democratic speech 
and participation, including its impact on "citizen journalism," as well as blogging, political 
organizing, and cultural expression.
