Clyburn announced today that Angela (“Angie”) Kronenberg will assume the responsibility of Chief of Staff, and that Eloise Gore will be on detail from the Media Bureau to advise the Commissioner on media and consumer issues. Angie has been serving as the Commissioner’s Wireline Legal Advisor since December 2009 and provides advice on a wide variety of wireline, broadband, and universal service matters. Prior to joining the Commissioner, Angie served as Special Counsel in the Spectrum & Competition Policy Division of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Before coming to the FCC, she practiced telecommunications and media law for over a decade in the Washington, D.C. office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Angie holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America. She also earned a certification from The Institute for Communications Law Studies at the Columbus School of Law. Angie holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Baylor University where she also was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Eloise has been Associate Bureau Chief in the Media Bureau since 2008 and oversaw the Digital Television transition, which was completed last year. She has also been responsible for cable and satellite carriage issues, including implementation of the new Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act. Eloise has been at the FCC for nearly 14 years, beginning in the Cable Services Bureau. Eloise also worked in Export Enforcement at the Department of Commerce and in Consumer Protection at the Federal Trade Commission. She graduated from New York University School of Law and also attended Georgetown University Law School. She is a member of the D.C. Bar. Angie succeeds Rick Kaplan, who has accepted a position with FCC Chairman Genachowski. On his departure from her office, Commissioner Clyburn stated: “I congratulate Rick Kaplan on his appointment with the Chairman. Rick was instrumental in my Senate confirmation process and shaping my office during my first eleven months at the Commission.
