Among the changes in the latest report is a comparison of the advertised broadband speeds subscribed to by consumers and businesses and the broadband availability speed benchmark adopted in the Sixth Broadband Deployment Report. Titled “Internet Access Services: Status as of December 31, 2009”, the report also includes the following upgrades and updates: · Snapshot view of the prevalence of broadband connections in four representative speed groups · Perspective on broadband adoption over the past decade · Added demographic information that correlates age and race with subscribership The data are based on information submitted to the FCC every six months by providers on FCC Form 477.
