STATEMENT BY FCC COMMISSIONER MICHAEL J. COPPS 
ON THE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT AMY LEVINE
WILL JOIN THE COMMISSION
“The Commission is truly fortunate—and I am personally so happy—that Amy Levine 
has decided to join the FCC as Special Counsel to the Chairman.  With her years spent tackling 
thorny communications issues on Capitol Hill, she brings a wealth of experience with her, a true 
dedication to the public interest and an ability to work with all stakeholders to build consensus.  
Most important among these stakeholders is the American consumer.  As we seek to brand the 
FCC as the consumer protection agency it was established to be, I can't think of anyone better 
positioned to help us than Amy.  And I'm counting on the Chairman to share her with all of us!”
