We believe the combination ofthese two companies will create a stronger company that will bring even greater benefits to their customers and our state by delivering wider coverage, higher speeds, increased value and more products and services than either company would be able to do on their own. Already, the U.S. Department ofJustice has approved the merger as well as public utility commissions in eleven states. - The approval ofthe proposed merger between CenturyLink and Qwest will benefit the citizens ofIowa as well as enhance its economy. With the Commission's timely approval, we can look forward to realizing the benefits that this combined company will provide.
