STATEMENT BY COMMISSIONER MICHAEL J. COPPS ON INTRODUCTION OF 
THE NEXT GENERATION WIRELESS DISCLOSURE ACT 
“I’m encouraged and enthused that Ranking Member Anna Eshoo has introduced the 
Next Generation Wireless Disclosure Act – a common-sense bill that would arm consumers with 
exactly the kind of information they need to make smart choices for their mobile broadband 
service in the dawning 4G era. Transparency about such important characteristics as coverage, 
reliability and data speeds not only promotes good consumer choice, it drives competition, 
innovation, and affordability. As more and more Americans rely on wireless for their broadband 
needs, this legislation would represent a huge win for consumers.”
