Those who find it inexpensive are travelers who have done their homework and know their options. To help these travelers know what their options are for international calling, texting and data downloading, the FCC is highlighting these issues the week of July 18-22, during its Second Annual “Wireless World Travel Week.” During the week the Commission will be posting blogs by the Chiefs of the International Bureau and Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau, posting helpful tip sheets on international calling and highlighting issues of particular importance. Americans take more than 60 million international trips each year, and, increasingly, they want to stay connected while on the road. What they don’t want is to come home and get a bill from their phone company for hundreds, even thousands, of dollars more than they expected. The information the FCC will be featuring next week will give travelers the information they need to avoid this “bill shock.” - FCC -
