J.D. and law graduate students expecting to graduate before September 2012 and law graduates serving as judicial clerks in the 2011-12 term. How will the FCC select candidates? The FCC considers many factors, including academics, writing skills, law review/moot court, clinical and extracurricular activities, and a demonstrated interest in government service or the communications industry. When are applications due? The FCC will accept applications for its Fall 2012 Honors Program from July 25, 2011, through September 23, 2011. When and where are interviews? October 2011, preferably at FCC Headquarters in Washington, DC, although remote interviews can be arranged in some circumstances. When will hiring decisions be made? We expect to make offers by mid-November 2011. When will work begin? Attorneys selected to join the Fall 2012 Honors Program will begin work by the end of September 2012. How long is the program? Attorneys are hired for a two-year term. During the two-year term, the program provides training and mentoring to supplement the work experience. What is the starting salary? A typical starting salary would be between $62,467 and $74,872, although upward adjustments can be made in unusual cases. Curious?
