DC 20554 Re: Clarity Media and KlaasKids Foundation Applications for Review Dear Chairman Genachowski> We are writing to request an update on the status ofthe Applications for Review filed by Clarity Media and the KlaasKids Foundation in June 2007. As you may know, Clarity>s proposal. originally filed in 2005 and denied in May 2007. sought authority to operate a multichannel video service on a non-interfering secondary basis to long-haul truck drivers at truck stops across the country. The proposal would provide affordable multichannel television service to an un-served segment ofpublic and enhance our efforts to protect children. This service would be beneficial for long-haul truckers> an industry that currently employs 2 million Americans> in helping to keep them connected and informed> particularly as they travel through rural areas. Additionally> as KlaasKids' support indicates> the proposal would complement and expand the Amber Alert system> providing a needed public service at private expense> and creating a potential first-responder force ofmore than 2,000,000 long haul truck drivers. Regardless ofthe ultimate decision. at this point, the organizations have waited more than four years for an official response from the FCC and deserve some resolution. We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response. Sincerely, PR NTeo ON ...eCYC:l!O PAPeR 0955
