October 20, 2011 FCC TO HOLD OPEN COMMISSION MEETING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2011 The Federal Communications Commission will hold an Open Meeting on the subjects listed below on Thursday, October 27, 2011, which is scheduled to commence at 10:30 a.m. in Room TW-C305, at 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. The Commission is waiving the sunshine period prohibition contained in Section 1.1203 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 1.1203, until 5:00 pm on Friday, October 21, 2011. BUREAU SUBJECT 1 WIRELINE COMPETITION AND WIRELESS TELE- COMMUNICATIONS TITLE: Connect America Fund (WC Docket No. 10-90); A National Broadband Plan for Our Future (GN Docket No. 09-51); Establishing Just and Reasonable Rates for Local Exchange Carriers (WC Docket No. 07-135); High-Cost Universal Service Support (WC Docket No. 05-337); Developing an Unified Intercarrier Compensation Regime (CC Docket No. 01-92); Federal-State Joint Board on Universal Service (CC Docket No. 96-45); Lifeline and Linkup (WC Docket No. 03-109) and Mobility Fund (WT Docket No. 10-208) SUMMARY: The Commission will consider a Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to comprehensively reform and modernize the universal service and intercarrier compensation systems to ensure that all Americans have access to robust, affordable broadband and mobile services. 2 2 MEDIA TITLE: Standardized and Enhanced Disclosure Requirements for Television Broadcast Licensee Public Interest Obligations (MM Docket No. 00-168); Extension of the Filing Requirement For Children's Television Programming Report (FCC Form 398) (MM Docket No. 00-44) SUMMARY: The Commission will consider an Order on Reconsideration of the 2007 Enhanced Disclosure Report and Order and a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking proposing to replace television broadcast stations' public files with online public files to be hosted by the Commission. 3 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY The Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau will provide a brief update on the status of preparations for the nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System to be held on November 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. EST. The meeting site is fully accessible to people using wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Sign language interpreters, open captioning, and assistive listening devices will be provided on site.
